Position Summary

The Corporate Tax Senior will play a key role within the Finance Department, assisting the Corporate Tax Manager with corporate tax related matters (internal and external stakeholders) within the organization, including but not limited to, tax reporting, compliance, researching and planning. In addition, this role will also be involved in other ancillary matter such as providing tax and accounting support to all FMG business units, and assisting with various grant reporting requirements. Domestic travel may be required.

 

Essential Skills and Functions

Corporate Tax-Related Matters

  • Compile tax information required for the preparation of Federal/State quarterly estimates, tax provisions, multi-state apportionment, and annual Federal/State Corporate Income Tax Returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of Federal/State current income tax and deferred tax provisions for FMG and corresponding operating entities.
  • Prepare Property Tax filings for all business units.
  • Compile and assist in the preparation of annual tax filings (Form 1099’s, 1042’s, etc.).
  • Work with the purchasing department to ensure foreign vendors are W-8 compliant
  • Submit quarterly 1042 withholding tax and Federal/State income tax payments
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of the Sales & Use Tax Returns.
  • Tax review of fixed asset lives, methods, research, etc.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information obtained and/or situations. In addition, have the ability to communicate potential solutions via logical reasoning.
  • Prepare/file annual business license renewals for all business units

Grants/Credits

  • Assist in the gathering, compiling information associated with tax credits and grants
  • Compile annual tax credit and grant reporting packages
  • Critical judgement/analysis of information to be reported

General Accounting

  • Develop a thorough understanding of financial systems used to collect tax information in order ensure proper tax accounting and reporting requirements are met
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering and preparing financial data
  • Participate in month-end closing activities
  • Various ad-hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • All employees are required to adhere to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMG and shall have high values for safety awareness
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands to handle materials or equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee’s workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, areas of the work environment may not be climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Three years of accounting and corporate tax preparation, including multi-state filings experience required
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with financial systems (preferably one or more of the following: SAP, BAAN, Epicor, Sage FAS, OneSource)
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US Tax Laws

Accounting Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading-edge college dedicated to student success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Develop and continually revise curriculum required development and routine revision of curriculum that includes adaptation of curriculum to college delivery standards, strategic directions, employer/advisory feedback, and industry/regulatory standards. This also includes but is not limited to Open Educational Resources (OER), textbook change, assessment plan, credit for prior learning assessment tools, and employability skills.
• Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
• Create learning experiences which integrate multiple alternative or emerging delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, including, but not limited to, hybrid, face-to-face, video conferencing, self-paced, and on-line course delivery.
• Provide immediate, routine, and consistent feedback to students to assist them in improving performance in technical and core ability competencies.
• Create a learning environment that integrates best practices for student success including authentic service learning, student club events, and engagement in profession specific activities.
• Develop, support, participate and collaborate with other departments on student recruitment, program marketing, and referral of students as needed for student success strategies including tutoring, counseling, advising, etc.
• Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
• Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in the related teaching field to meet qualifications necessary to be designated as a professionally qualified faculty member in accordance with Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)**
• Individual will need to be proficient in a broad scope of accounting skills including: Payroll, personal and business tax, cost accounting, balance sheets, general accounting practices, managerial accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting.

• At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the related teaching field
OR
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution, and a bachelor’s degree in the related teaching field to meet qualifications necessary to be designated as a professionally qualified faculty member in accordance with Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
• Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.
• CPA is desirable.

**Educational Requirement Employment Condition:
If an applicant is to be hired at the minimum educational requirement, it will be a condition of employment to obtain the preferred educational requirement (i.e., Master’s Degree). Talent and Culture, in conjunction with the Instructional Leader, will work to determine the timeframe, not to exceed 6 years from the date of hire.
