Green Bay – Downtown
Green Bay – Downtown
In the heart of it all…
By day, downtown Green Bay is a bustling business epicenter, welcoming people to eateries, the CityDeck riverfront boardwalk/promenade along the Fox River and boutique shops. By night, it is a thriving dining and cultural scene featuring a theater, pubs and a surprising number of events.
Downtown Green Bay straddles both sides of the Fox River, offering a number of ways to access or enjoy the waterfront. The Downtown District on the east side of the river is the heart of Green Bay; the west side’s Broadway offers eclectic shops, authentic dining establishments and the famous Wednesday night farmers’ market that’s as much a social destination as a source of locally-grown food. Special draws including the IgNight Market, a traveling night market series that features local artisans and makers, interactive art demonstrations, original live music performances, life-size games, food and drinks as streets are transformed into a contemporary, open-air marketplace at nightfall.
The entire downtown’s walkability means amenities such as two popular farmers’ markets, museums, CityDeck waterfront promenade and other draws are close by. Walk the CityDeck connected to the Fox River Trail, kayak from a launching point along the waterfront or hop aboard a Bird electronic scooter to grab a farm-to-table breakfast at The Creamery (don’t miss their Bloody Marys) or just enjoy the day. By summer, cool off at the CityDeck splash pad; by winter, enjoy the ice skating rink, heated canopy or winter igloos by Hagemeister Park. Winter or summer, you’ll find lots of draws in ever-evolving Downtown Green Bay, be it pocket parks, yoga on the CityDeck or other events.
