According to the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs, Wisconsin ranks best for veteran benefits. In fact, we provide 23 of the 26 nationally recognized benefits – more than any other state.
We want to help you access all the benefits and resources available to you and your family.
Local benefits
The people throughout Greater Green Bay appreciate veterans and your service. Veterans are welcomed here and celebrated at local programs and events. There is palpable respect.
In addition to a veteran-friendly attitude, you will also find a veteran-ready atmosphere, complete with robust access to benefits and a thorough understanding of what transitioning veterans need to be successful, including:
- County Veterans Service Officers (CVSO) in Brown County connects veterans, dependents and survivors to your earned benefits to improve your quality of life.
- Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Outreach and Recovery Program (VORP) is designed to help veterans who need special assistance with recovery or targeted treatment get the support needed.
- The Vet Center offers counseling services to veterans.
State and Federal benefits
The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs not only offers help identifying and applying for earned benefits, it also provides mental health resources, a Crisis Line and social events.
